Pupils' Work
The Nursery have recently had a new outdoor play area built.
Blue and Red class, year 1, have been finding out about Toys.
The reception children have been finding out about space.
The children in Silver class, year 2 have been learning about money.
The children can solve 'real life' problems involving money.
Year 2 children have learnt about The Great Fire of London. The children asked interesting questions to start their project and found the answers. They found out how, why, where and when the fire started. Books, the internet, video's were used to find information on Samuel Peypes, a gentleman who write a diary whilst the fire was raging in London.
Some of the children in Rainbow class created the painting below using different techniques they had learnt in art. They used rollers and brushes using the techniques of flicking and splashing. The picture is based on a picture from a big book the children had used to find information. The children have used words to describe the properties of the materials used in different toys. They explored toys which have moving parts and designed and made their own toy with a moving part. They used skills such as cutting, assembling and joining. The children used different sources of information to find out about toys from the past. Many toys from many years ago didn't have batteries to make them move.
Our school are focusing on healthy eating. We are encouraged to eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. We all eat at least one piece of fruit or vegetable while we are at school. We enjoy apples, bananas, satsumas, carrots, grapes and many more.
Aswell as eating healthily, we are encouraged to exercise more.
Each morning after the register the children and teachers of the school go into the hall and exercise. We have learnt several exercise routines to keep us healthy. We use music to dance to. This is called 'Wake Up, Shake Up'. It gives us a good start to the day. We all enjoy it!
The children enjoy using the new equipment and exploring outside.
